NEWS

  • America : Wall Street rallied (S&P 500 +2.51%, Nasdaq +2.80%, Dow +2.85%) driven by a risk-on sentiment following a temporary U.S.–Iran ceasefire, which eased oil prices and inflation pressures while boosting expectations of Fed rate cuts. However, the rally remains fragile due to escalation risks (Israel–Lebanon tensions, potential disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz), with markets awaiting CPI confirmation. The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield declined to 4.29%, reflecting moderating inflation, although geopolitical and inflation risks persist.
  • Asia : Asian markets surged (Nikkei +5.39%, KOSPI +6.87%, SSE +2.69%, Hang Seng +3.09%) fueled by euphoria over the U.S.–Iran ceasefire, with technology stocks leading the gains. However, investors turned cautious again amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, as the ceasefire faces risks of collapse following Israel’s strikes in Lebanon, which triggered accusations of violations.

MARKET UPDATE

  • The JCI surged +4.42% to 7,279 following the de-escalation of U.S.–Iran geopolitical tensions (a two-week ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz), a sharp correction in crude oil prices, and confirmation that FTSE Russell will not downgrade Indonesia—supporting potential foreign inflows. However, the rally may be temporary amid ongoing global uncertainty.
  • Bond market: The 10-year Indonesian government bond (SUN) yield declined to 6.59%, reflecting easing global risk premiums after the de-escalation of the U.S.–Iran conflict, which triggered buying accumulation and potential foreign inflows. Nevertheless, movements remain selective as investors monitor the rupiah, government bond supply, and Bank Indonesia’s policy direction, with easing energy inflation expectations providing room for a more accommodative monetary stance.
